Susanna M. Kocsis’ volunteerism, lively spirit and never-give-up attitude inspired the birth of the Susie Q Foundation. She envisioned cancer being cured in the near future. Meanwhile, she felt a strong need to help cancer victims through her artwork, counseling, and support. That helping attitude became the genesis of this foundation.
Our purpose is to extend a hand of support by impacting the day-to-day lives of cancer survivors and their families. It offers a legacy of hope for all lives touched by cancer. Hope to heighten public awareness of cancer. Hope for a realization that life indeed DOES exist after a diagnosis. Hope for a cure.
In Sue’s own words: "After the long uphill climb through treatment and surgeries, the tremendous view from the top is very much enjoyed".
Our Hope is to succeed in helping produce a quicker means to the end for this disease, all the while serving those affected by cancer to have a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
Sue passed away from breast cancer on June 28, 2000 at age 43. |
